So my all-time favorite type of food is Tex-Mex. It is spicy. It is quick. It is easy. It is also readily available in just about any supermarket in pre-packaged forms with all the spices and basic necessities, no real cooking required. I eat it all the time, and if I don’t get it at home, I get it from restaurants. Sometimes I have it everyday.

As a result, I have never learned to really cook. I know, it’s a shocker. Don’t get me wrong; I can make some things. I made arroz con pollo for a couple of friends of mine and they survived. But you can’t really go wrong with arroz con pollo. And I know eventually my mom will stop doing my cooking for me.

So here’s my plan: I will learn to cook. And chronical it. For your viewing pleasure. I’ll try not to burn the house down. For the record, I’ve only caused one fire, and I put it out immediately. But that’s beside the point. I want to learn how to make real Mexican and Tex-Mex, and I’m throwing in some other cultural cuisines just for giggles. French, Irish, German, Indian, whatever, so long as it is delicious. Send something my way if you have something good!
